KILLEEN (May 9, 2013)—Police have made an arrest after a break-in late last month at a Killeen liquor store near the intersection of Old Florence Road and East Schlueter Loop
The owners of Lucky 7 Liquor, James and Patricia Ryan, posted security video of the bulky burglar on the store’s Facebook page after the break-in in hopes someone would recognize him.
Stavin Lamon Blocker, 40, was in the Bell County Jail Thursday in lieu of $100,000 bond, charged with burglary of a building.
He was arrested Wednesday after investigators linked him to a car with distinctive rims that was caught by the store’s surveillance camera, an arrest affidavit said.
The video the Ryans posted shows the man breaking out the glass in the front door of the store early on April 29 and then squeezing under a bar through the shards.
At an estimated 300 pounds, it was a tight fit, but once inside the man scooped up bottles of whiskey from a nearby shelf and then attempted to make his way back through the door, dropping some of the bottles along the way.
Once outside, he got into his car and drove off.
Officers were sent to the store after a tow truck driver patrolling the area for illegally parked cars saw the man and called 911.
The damage to the door cost more to repair than the value of the eight bottles of liquor that were stolen, Ryan said.
