CLIFTON (June 18, 2014) Clifton police were looking Wednesday for at least three people after two flatbed delivery trucks loaded with shingles were stolen from Parker Lumber overnight.
The burglars cut a hole in a fence to gain access to a storage area at the lumberyard at 1214 North Avenue G and then used the company’s forklift to load a large quantity of shingles onto two of the company’s delivery trucks.
Then they removed the hinges from the lumberyard’s gate and drove off in the two loaded trucks.
One of the trucks was a red 1997 Dodge one-ton flatbed with Texas license BU71440 and the other was a white 2004 GMC flatbed with Texas license BD69210.
“We believe this criminal incident may have involved 3 or more people due to the nature of the incident and evidence at the scene,” police said in a press release Wednesday.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the theft to call the Clifton Police Department at (254) 675-6620.
Callers may remain anonymous, police said.
