LAMPASAS (January 28, 2014) Police were investigating Tuesday after two drop boxes at the Lampasas Post Office were burglarized over the weekend.
A news release Tuesday from Lampasas police Sgt. Charlie Boswell said between late Saturday night and Sunday morning, someone cut the locks and burglarized drop boxes outside the building at 1700 East Fourth St.
Police also discovered several parcel pick up boxes inside the building had been pried open.
A report from post office staff indicated the parcel pick up boxes were empty at the time of the burglary and nothing was taken.
Police reported that several other post offices in the Central Texas have been burglarized, but would not say if they believe the burglaries are connected.
Boswell asked anyone with information about the burglary to call Lampasas police at (512) 556-3644 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 756-8477.
