Campus Police Respond To Gun Threat, But No Weapon Found

By: Paul J. Gately Email

KILLEEN (April 19, 2011)—Central Texas College police responded to a report of a man with a gun on campus Monday but after a search no weapon was found.

A male student called police and reported what he said was a threat made against him by another man who had a gun.

According to the student, the assailant was not a CTC student.

Campus police responded and were able to identify the man whom the victim said made the threat.

After searching the suspect officers did not find a weapon.

Nor were officers able to find anyone who could substantiate the threat made against the student.

The suspect was released.

Officers obtained three witness statements and continued to search for more witnesses.

The suspect was given a trespass warning and told not to return to campus.

CTC police said they would contact the Bell County District Attorney’s office to see if additional charges were appropriate.
