DENTON (May 26, 2014) Two people were killed and five others were injured when a car crossed the center line on a two-lane rural road northwest of Denton and struck two oncoming motorcycles.
The driver of one motorcycle, Thomas Garcia, 53, of Ardmore, Okla., died at the scene, and his passenger, Cassie Turner, 33, also of Ardmore, died later Sunday at a hospital.
Two people on the second motorcycle suffered serious injuries in the crash, which happened at around 5:45 p.m. Sunday on FM 51, three miles north of FM 455.
The driver of the Toyota Yaris and her two passengers, another adult and a 6-year-old child, all of Weatherford, were in stable condition Monday.
The rider on a third motorcycle was able to avoid the collision.
Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Lonny Haschel said it's not clear what caused the Toyota to veer into the northbound.
