AUSTIN (March 13, 2013)—An Austin car dealership was open for business Wednesday after a driver lost control of his car, which veered off Interstate 35 and plowed through at least 18 vehicles.
The crash left Hyundai cars with their hoods torn off.
One ended up on its side with its roof sheared away.
Parts were strewn across the lot.
The car that caused the damage early Wednesday morning came to rest upside down on top of another vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Witnesses told police the car veered off the Interstate 35 frontage road.
After the crash they said they saw a man crawl from the car and run off.
Empty beer bottles were found in the car, police said.
Employees were cleaning up the mess Wednesday.
