Central Texas Man Arrested After Girl Reports 40 Incidents Of Sexual Abuse

CAMERON (September 18, 2012)--A Cameron man was in jail Tuesday after a 13-year-old girl reported she was sexually abused more than 40 times by the same man.

Rayford Bernard Smith, 48, of Cameron, was arrested Monday on a continuous sexual abuse of a child charge.

Police say the victim's family was acquainted with Smith at the time of the incidents.

According to Cameron police, College Station police are also investigating Smith in connection with similar offenses.

Smith was in the Milam County Jail Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bond.
