BRYAN (March 23, 2013)--A judge in Bryan has sentenced a Michael McGruder, 49, of College Station, to 30 years in prison following McGruder’s fourth conviction for driving while intoxicated.
State District Judge J.D. Langley sentenced McGruder Friday after prosecutors showed he had four previous prison terms to go with 19 criminal convictions on various charges.
The latest driving-while-intoxicated arrest happened earlier this year.
McGruder refused a sobriety test, but because of his previous drunken driving convictions, authorities were able to obtain a blood sample, which showed him to be over the legal blood alcohol limit.
