An arrest warrant was issued naming Christopher Kenton Rosemond, 26, in connection with the incident, which happened at around 4:15 a.m. Friday at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of West 4th Street, Cameron police Chief Randy Dixon said.

The woman told officers her estranged boyfriend came to her apartment and threatened both her and her 18-month-old child.

At one point, Dixon said, the man pulled a handgun from his clothing and threatened both the woman and the baby, and then prevented the woman from leaving or calling police.

The woman was finally able to call for help after the man left.

The warrant charges the suspect with endangering a child, interfering with an emergency call, unlawful restraint of a child and deadly conduct, Dixon said and additional charges may be filed as well, he said.

Dixon said police consider the suspect to be armed and dangerous.
