ROUND ROCK (June 25, 2013)—Three Round Rock police officers involved in a shooting that left a woman dead were on administrative leave Tuesday.
The officers were dispatched late Sunday night in response to a report of a woman who was carrying a weapon near a bar, Round Rock police spokeswoman Dee Carver said.
The found Sarah Harrington, 31, sitting on a bench in front of City Hall, about two blocks from the bar, Carver said.
Harrington told the officers she had a gun, but wouldn't surrender it, she said.
The officers tried to subdue her with a stun gun and pepper-spray gun, but both were ineffective, she said.
They fired when Harrington pointed the gun at them, she said.
