DERIDDER, La. (October 20, 2012)--A two-car crash in Beauregard Parish left a Central Texas woman dead and two others injured.

Louisiana State Police say it happened shortly after 9 a.m. Friday on U.S. 190, about three miles east of U.S. 171 between Ragley and Reeves.

Troopers say George L Hodges, Jr., 59, of Dequincy, La., was headed east on U.S. 190 when he crossed the centerline into the westbound lane.

His vehicle struck a car driven by Robert L. Stinespring, 71, of Llano head-on.

Stinespring's passenger, Guadelupe L. Stinespring, 71, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers suspect Hodges may have fallen asleep prior to the crash.

Routine toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers for analysis.

Hodges was cited with driving left of center.

The crash is under investigation.
