LAMPASAS COUNTY (November 5, 2012)--A Bend woman died Sunday morning in a single-vehicle auto crash on a rural highway near her home.

Department of Public Safety trooper Jimmy Chestnut said Sarah Cornelison Lovejoy, 69, of Bend, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Farm-to-Market Road 580 near Bend.

Chestnut said Lovejoy was eastbound on FM 580 at a speed above the posted limit when she lost control of her vehicle in a curve.

The vehicle left the roadway and went up an embankment, became airborne and then flipped over several times before coming to rest in a field.

Lampasas County Justice of the Peace Cameron Brister pronounced her dead at the scene at 9:40 a.m. Sunday.
