DALLAS (February 23, 2014) Firefighters found the body of a child early Sunday after battling an apartment fire in Dallas, authorities said.
Six people were home early Sunday in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas when heavy smoke was reported coming from a second story, fire department spokesman Jason Evans said.
Three residents escaped, but an elderly woman and another child suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to a hospital.
The body of the second child wasn't found until after the flames were put out.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
