Community Bands Together To Repair House Damaged By Fire

By: Nadia Galindo Email

CRAWFORD (February 1, 2013)--Many businesses and volunteers came together today to rebuild a home that was damaged by a fire on Jan. 16.

James Ana and Earl Booker were living inside the home after the fire when community members decided to take action.

"The ball started rolling, and were here today to do what we can to bless this family," Pastor Jeff Gravens, Crawford First Baptist said.

Once crews saw the condition of the home, a decision was made to do more than just put a band-aid on the damage.

"We're doing carpet, cabinets, floor covering, we're doing it all," Jared Talbert, Talbert Construction Owner said.

Crawford First Baptist and Talbert Construction donated their time and money to make repairs on the house.

During construction the Bookers are staying with a family member.

Organizers say construction should be done by Monday.
