BEAUMONT (June 9, 2014) Members of the country group Shenandoah escaped injury early Saturday when their tour bus was part of a fiery wreck on the Neches River bridge on Interstate 10 in Beaumont.
The bus, which was carrying band members and crew, was eastbound on Interstate 10 after a show Friday night in Stafford, near Houston.
The bus was following two vehicles when the back of one hit another hauling a fuel tank, sparking an explosion, Shenandoah spokesman Don Murry Grubbs said Monday.
The bus was sideswiped and went through the fireball, drummer Mike McGuire said.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says a suspected drunken driver in a pickup truck will face charges in the crash.
Two people in the other truck were taken to a hospital for treatment.
