Central Texas Man Killed In Collision Involving County Dump Truck Identified

Police Tuesday identified a Central Texas man who died at a local hospital after a collision involving a minivan and a county dump truck.

TEMPLE (April, 16, 2013)—A man who died Friday after a Bell County dump truck and minivan collided at an intersection in Temple was identified Tuesday as Vance Edsel, 53, of Rogers.

The dump truck and the minivan collided at around 1:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of FM 93 and South 31st Street in Temple.

Edsel, who was a passenger in the minivan, was extricated and taken to Scott & White Hospital where he later died.

A second passenger and the driver of the minivan were injured and were taken to Scott & White as well.

Their names have not been released.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

A Chihuahua was also killed in the crash.

The Temple Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
