HOUSTON (June 30, 2014) Efraim Carmona, 39, was charged with five counts of intoxication manslaughter and one count of intoxication assault after a flatbed truck that was traveling the wrong way on a Houston-area highway slammed into an oncoming pickup truck in which six people were riding, killing four adults and a child and injuring one other person.
Carmona was also injured.
The crash happened at around 11 p.m. Sunday in the westbound lanes of the North Sam Houston Tollway.
The driver of the flatbed truck entered the tollway, headed east in the westbound lanes, and then struck the oncoming Fort F-150 in which the five people were riding, authorities said.
