PARIS (April 14, 2014) Three teenagers from the East Texas town of Paris were killed in a one-vehicle crash that sent five other people to hospitals, the Department of Public Safety said.
The pickup truck driven by Robert Russell, 18, left a roadway, struck a tree and then rolled several times early Sunday morning, the DPS said.
Russell and two of his passengers, Colbie Miller and Bailee Sims, both 19, died in the crash.
DPS officials say the pickup in which eight people were riding crashed just after it passed over the Pat Mayse Lake dam north of Paris.
A spokesperson for the Paris Independent School District said all three teenagers who died attended district schools.
Russell and Sims graduated from Paris High School, while Miller attended North Lamar High School.
