Crash Leaves One Texas Teen Dead, 14-Year-Old Driver Injured

CONROE (April 22, 2014) A 15-year-old Texas boy died and a 14-year-old girl was injured when the car the girl was driving slammed into a tree after running a stop sign late Monday night at an intersection in Montgomery County, authorities said.

The boy was identified as Anthony Gomez, KBTX-TV in Bryan reported.

The girl was driving a Pontiac G-6 at what authorities said was a high rate of speed at around 10 p.m. Monday near the community of Cut and Shoot east of Conroe when she ran the stop sign.

The car slammed head on into the three.

Gomez was partially ejected.

He died at the scene.

The girl was taken to the Conroe Regional Hospital in stable condition.

The Department of Public Safety says there was not an air bag on the passenger side of the car.
