Crash Leaves Texas School Bus Driver Trapped

MARSHALL (October 9, 2012)—A Marshall Independent School District bus driver was hurt in a wreck that left the bus on its side.

Officials with the Marshall ISD said no students were on board when a pickup truck hit the bus Monday afternoon.

The bus was headed for an elementary school to pick up children after classes ended for the day, authorities said.

A district spokesman said the female driver, whose name hasn't been released, managed to make a call for help while still trapped in the bus.

She was treated at the scene and then transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries weren’t believed to be life threatening.

Officials say the truck driver also required medical attention.

Further details weren't immediately available.
