WACO (May 5, 2014) A woman who ended up trapped in the crushed wreckage of her overturned SUV was taken to a Waco hospital late Monday morning after firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free her.

The accident happened just after 11 a.m. Monday at the intersection of South Valley Mills Drive and Acree Street.

The woman was attempting to turn off of Valley Mills when another vehicle whose brakes evidently failed hit her SUV.

The SUV overturned and slid into the pickup truck, a witness said.

The woman and the driver of the pickup were both hurt, but their injuries didn’t appear to be life threatening.

Traffic was diverted around the crash scene until just before noon.
