LLANO COUNTY (November 23, 2012)--An Austin-area man died and a west Texas man was injured early Thursday morning in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Llano County.

Oscar Espinosa-Reyes, of Del Valle, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 1 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Ranch-to-Market Road 2233.

Matthew Mitchell, 37, of San Angelo, was taken from the scene to Breckenridge Hospital, in Austin, for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Department of Public Safety trooper John Chambers, of Llano, reported Mitchell was driving a 2001 GMC pick up truck eastbound on U.S. 71 when the pick up crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Espinosa-Reyes.

Chambers' report did not indicate whether either man was wearing a seat belt.
