WACO (July 17, 2014) Robert Blackburn, 19, was in stable condition Thursday in a local hospital after an accident Wednesday evening on southbound Interstate 35 at University Parks Drive in Waco that left his motorcycle in flames.

The motorcycle clipped the rear of a lawn care truck towing a trailer and burst into flames, authorities said.

The driver of the truck said it appeared the rider was trying to change lanes at the time.

Blackburn, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center.

The accident was reported at around 5:45 p.m.

All three main lanes were closed until the accident scene was cleared.
