Crash On Rural Central Texas Highway Leaves Man Dead, Child Hurt

A late-night crash on a rural Central Texas highway left one man dead and a 5-year-old girl injured.

MILAM COUNTY (May 6, 2014) A Milano man died and his 5-year-old daughter was injured in a late-night crash Monday between their pickup truck and an 18-wheeler on State Highway 36 just south of Milano.

Adam Apollo Alderman, 33, died at the scene of the accident, which happened at around 10 p.m. Monday.

His daughter, whose name wasn’t released, was flown to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Information about her injuries wasn’t immediately available.

The driver of the 18-wheeler wasn’t injured.

The wreckage blocked the highway and backed up traffic in both directions until crews could clear the accident scene.

The highway reopened at around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.
