KENEDY (May 20, 2013)--Four people were killed early Monday in a traffic accident involving a truck, a motorcycle and a car.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the accident happened early Monday on Highway 72 in Karnes County, near Kenedy about 50 miles southeast of San Antonio.
Trooper Javier Reyes says the motorcycle and the car were following an 18-wheeler when the truck driver of the rig stopped to make a left turn.
The motorcycle rider laid down his bike, but the car hit the truck.
The four men in the car died.
The truck driver wasn't hurt and the motorcycle rider has injuries that aren't believed to be life-threatening.
Reyes says the four victims and the motorcyclist were oilfield workers and had been at a bar.
Authorities were trying to determine if alcohol played a role in the wreck.
The DPS did not immediately provide additional information on the victims or the possible cause of the accident.
Further details weren't immediately available.
