MARLIN (May 1, 2012)--Department of Public Safety investigators have released the identities of a woman who died and her husband who was seriously injured in a fatality accident Monday in Falls County.
Annie Mae Hoes, 82, was pronounced dead at the scene Monday afternoon just north of Falls County Road 223 on State Highway 6.
Her husband, and the driver of their car, Ernest Hoes, 78, remained at Scott and White Hospital Tuesday with serious injuries.
DPS spokesman Trooper D.L. Wilson said at about 1 p.m. Monday a 1998 Ford Contour in which the elderly man and woman were riding was northbound on Highway 6 when the driver attempted a left turn at an intersection and a southbound 2011 Chevrolet Traverse struck the passenger side of the car.
Leon Andrew Jackson, of Hearne, driver of the Traverse, was not injured, Wilson said.
Mrs. Hoes’ body was taken to Adams Funeral Home, in Marlin, where arrangements are pending.
Mr. Hoes was flown by helicopter to Scott & White with what Wilson described as very serious injuries.
