HOUSTON (March 11, 2013)--A Delta Air Lines jet that was returning to a gate Monday at Houston's William P. Hobby Airport ended up stuck in the mud at the edge of a taxiway.
Airport officials say no one on Delta Flight 4302, which was bound for Atlanta at 6:45 a.m. Monday, was hurt.
The crew was returning to the gate after reporting a communication problem.
Delta spokesman Joe Williams said the Delta Connection flight, a Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft operated by Pinnacle Airlines, Inc., was carrying 76 passengers and a crew of four.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory said an airport runway was temporarily closed because of the incident.
Cory said the pilot reported a communication problem, returned to the gate but ended up taxiing on the grass.
Shuttle buses took the passengers back to the terminal.
