AUSTIN (April 3, 2013)--At least six freight cars derailed early Wednesday in Austin, leaving some intersections blocked during rush hour.
Officials with Capital Metro in Austin said nobody was hurt in the derailment.
Authorities are trying to determine what caused the derailment in east Austin.
No rail cars overturned.
The freight train tracks are on the same system used by Capital Metro's MetroRail service, which line canceled some routes Wednesday while the tracks were cleared.
Buses helped transport displaced rail commuters to their destinations.
