TEMPLE (August 12, 2014) Temple police were asking for the public’s help Tuesday in identifying a man who stole items from a local convenience store while a second man armed with a rifle stood by a window.
Officers were sent at around 3:40 a.m. on July 23 to the 7-Eleven store in the 4100 block of South 31st Street in response to a report of the robbery, police Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said.
The clerk told officers the man entered the store, selected several items and then walked out the door without paying.
The clerk said when he went to call police to report the theft, he saw the second man who was pointing a rifle at him.
The two men, who are white and in their 20s, ran west from the store.
No one was injured.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the suspects or incident to contact the Temple Police Department at (254) 298-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-TIPS.
