TEMPLE (June 16, 2014) A truck driver who died Monday morning when an Amtrak train struck his 18-wheeler at a crossing in Temple was identified as Randall Collier, 58, of Rogers.
Collier’s truck was eastbound on East Avenue K at around 11 a.m. when the northbound train struck it at the crossing just east of South 12th Street, Temple police Cpl. Christopher Wilcox said.
The crossing is marked with a stop sign, but has no warning signal.
It’s not clear whether Collier stopped, authorities said.
About 170 passengers were on the train.
No one was injured.
