BREMOND (September 28, 2013)—Department of Public Safety troopers used spike strips to stop an SUV whose driver led authorities on a 30-mile chase down Highway 6 in Central Texas.
The chase started Friday night in Riesel after an officer tried to pull the SUV over and the driver took off.
The driver avoided one set of spike strips during the chase, which reached speeds no higher than 60 miles per hour, but a second set deployed in Bremond in Robertson County brought the SUV to a stop.
Other details weren’t immediately available.
