Driver Trapped After 18-Wheeler Overturns, Spills Load Of Bricks

RIESEL (October 29, 2012)—An 18-wheeler overturned at around 4:25 p.m. Monday in Riesel, leaving the driver trapped in the wreckage and spilling a load of bricks.

Firefighters had to cut the driver from the cab of the truck.

The southbound side of State Highway 6 was closed because the accident.

A woman who works nearby said she could see the accident, but said she didn't know how many vehicles were involved.

Riesel police, firefighters and an EMS unit were at the scene and the driver was being taken to a Waco hospital for treatment.

The severity of his injuries was not known.

There was no immediate information about what caused the truck to overturn.
