Driver Dies In Daycare Bus Crash In Texas

ODESSA (February 2, 2012)—Victoria Garcia, 27, died Thursday after the daycare center bus she was driving collided with a car and a sport utility vehicle and then slammed into a vacant restaurant building in Odessa.

A statement from the Odessa police said Garcia died at Medical Center Hospital after the crash just before 4 p.m. Thursday at an intersection on U.S. 385, one block south of the Odessa College campus.

Garcia was alone in the bus.

The police statement said Garcia ran a stop sign on a side street and the bus hit the car and SUV before hitting the brick wall of the vacant building.

The SUV driver also was taken to Medical Center Hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The car’s driver wasn't injured.
