LACY LAKEVIEW (December 2, 2013) Firefighters worked for more than an hour Monday morning to free a truck driver from the wreckage of a truck that overturned on Interstate 35 in Lacy Lakeview.

Department of Public Safety trooper D.L. Wilson said Randall Tremar, 42, of Waco, was trapped in the cab of the truck after it overturned between Crest Drive and Craven Avenue on the southbound side of Interstate 35.

The truck was hauling construction debris from West to a disposal site when it overturned and spilled its load on the roadway.

DPS called Grones Environmental Services, of Waco, to the scene to remove the debris, which authorities said could include asbestos.

The accident was reported just before 11 a.m., Wilson said, and was caused when the left front tire on the truck blew out.

The truck is owned by A-1 Salvage, of Waco, Wilson said.

Wilson said the driver suffered crushing injuries to his legs and may have suffered back injuries, as well, but said the injuries were not life-threatening.
