Five Killed In Crash On Texas Highway Identified

SEAGRAVES (September 30, 2013)—Authorities have identified five people who were killed early Sunday on a highway in West Texas when a pickup struck the back of another truck and both overturned.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Bryan Witt says it's not clear what caused the Dodge pickup in which two people were riding to slam into the rear of a GMC truck in which five were riding early Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 62 just north of Seagraves, about 60 miles southwest of Lubbock.

All five of the people riding in the GMC died at the scene.

They were identified as Romulo Molina, Luis Valenzuela, David Dominguez-Juarez, Isabel Garcia-De La Cerda and Juan Carlos Enriquez Mendoza.

Molina was the only one wearing a seat belt.

Ramero Aguilar, who was a passenger in the Dodge, was flown to a hospital.

Ramon Aguilar, who was driving the Dodge, left the scene, Witt said.

DPS troopers later found him and he was also taken to a hospital, authorities said.

The overturned vehicles came to rest in a roadside ditch.

Ramon Aguilar was charged Monday with intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault and felony stop and render aid, Witt said.
