Early Morning Shooting At Texas Nightclub Leaves One Dead

DALLAS (March 14, 2013)—One man died and another was wounded when shots were fired early Thursday outside a nightclub in Dallas during an altercation that involved an off-duty police officer.

The officer was providing security at the club early Thursday morning when the confrontation between two groups broke out in the parking lot.

Multiple shots were fired at around 2:15 a.m. Thursday and the officer discharged his duty weapon in an attempt to intervene.

It wasn't immediately clear who fired the fatal shot or the shot that left the other man wounded.

He was in stable condition Thursday at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Multiple witnesses were taken to a police station in an effort to sort out the incident.
