Early-Morning Shooting Outside Texas Nightclub Leaves One Dead

HOUSTON (January 2, 2012)--Houston police were looking for witnesses to come forward Wednesday after a man was shot to death in a nightclub parking lot early on New Year’s Day.

Sgt. Warren Meeler said the 34-year-old man was killed after an argument with four other customers inside Cube's Sports Bar early in the morning on New Year's Day.

Detectives say people who argued with the victim inside the bar were ejected, but waited in the parking lot where the victim was shot several times as he left.

He says officers were called within minutes, but found the club closed and no witnesses waiting.

"We know that parking lot was full of people. We know that club was full of people. We're in serious need of some witnesses to come forward on this,” he said.
