WACO (January 18, 2013)—An elderly man who was injured during a carjacking Friday afternoon outside of a nursing home was taken to a local hospital with what police said were minor injuries.

The incident happened at around 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Woodland Springs nursing home at 1010 Dallas St.

The man had just arrived at the facility to visit a friend when a man and a woman came up, pushed him out of his car and drove off.

The man was struck in the face by the door of the car during the theft.

The stolen car was a Mercury Grand Marquis that was either light tan or silver, police said.
