TEMPLE (August 3, 2014) An elderly man was hospitalized late Sunday afternoon after being attacked by bees.
The attach happened on South 5th Street in Temple near Marlandwood Rd.
Temple Fire and Rescue spokesman Thomas Pechal reported the man was mowing his grass when a swarm of bees flew out of their hive under a tree and attacked him.
The man was transported to an area hospital with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.
Several others were strung by bees while attempting to help the man, but did not need to be hospitalized.
The beehive was foamed down by first responders on scene.
