Elderly Texas Woman Dies After House Fire

HOUSTON (November 28, 2012)--A 90-year-old Houston woman died Wednesday, hours after she was rescued from her burning house after a fire that evidently started in the kitchen, a Houston Fire Department official said.

Spokesman Jay Evans said the woman's son returned home Tuesday night from a neighbor's place to find the fire in the home he shared with his mother.

Firefighters found the woman in a bedroom.

Investigators believe the fire started in the kitchen.

Officials say the woman evidently left some food cooking on the stove.
