Elderly Texas Woman Stabs Burglar With Barbecue Fork

HOUSTON (August 20, 2012)—Margaret Jackson, 73, of Houston, fended off a would-be burglar by stabbing him with a barbecue fork.

Houston police did not immediately provide details Monday on whether anyone has been arrested.

Jackson said she stopped by her daughter's house Friday afternoon and saw a young man trying to break in through the back door.

Jackson says she looked around the kitchen for some utensils to use as weapons and grabbed a barbecue fork and a pair of scissors.

Jackson says she flung open the door and struggled with the youth.

Jackson says she stabbed the burglar in the neck with the fork as he ran away.

She wasn't injured.
