LEON COUNTY (July 20, 2012)--Leon County authorities have identified the husband and wife found shot inside their home near Hilltop Lakes Wednesday as C. W. and Patricia Guiles.

Authorities say the two died in a murder-suicide.

The couple's children found their parents shot late Wednesday afternoon.

Patricia Guiles was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her husband died Wednesday night at a hospital to which he was flown by helicopter, the Leon County Sheriff's Office said.

They were both in their 80s and authorities believe they were both suffering from serious medical issues, and that the man took his wife's life before attempting to take his own.

"Evidently, there were medical problems, and they both appeared as though they were tired of living. It looked like he shot her, and then attempted to take his own life,” Sheriff Jerry Wakefield said.

Their home is near the intersection of FM 977 and FM 3 northwest of the Hilltop Lakes community.
