SAN ANTONIO (May 15, 2013)--Fifteen people were injured and 10 of them were hospitalized, when a packed escalator at San Antonio's convention center malfunctioned and jerked to a stop, sending people tumbling down the steps.
The incident happened about 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, where a Dish Network convention was underway.
Convention Center spokeswoman Andrea DeLaune said one of victims may have suffered life-threatening injuries.
Five declined hospital treatment.
She said it's not yet clear what caused the malfunction
