KILLEEN (June 19, 2014) Former Killeen High School teacher Samuel Antonio Caines, Jr., 55, was arrested Thursday on a warrant stemming from an investigation of allegations of a continuous sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student, police said.
He was charged with inappropriate relationship between educator and student and was later released after posting $100,000 bond.
The arrest stems from an investigation that started several months ago into allegations of a sexual relationship between September 2013 and this month with the teenage girl, who was attending the high school, police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said Thursday.
He was placed on administrative leave on Feb. 14 and is no longer employed by the district, Smith said.
Additional charges were pending Thursday night, Smith said.
