ROCKWALL (May 3, 2014) Former Hunt County constable Anthony Dewayne Lewis, who was serving a 60-year-sentence for murder in a shooting in which his ex-girlfriend died and her male friend was injured, has been found dead in his state prison cell.
Lewis was found dead in his cell Wednesday at the Stiles Unit in Beaumont with what evidently was a self-inflicted laceration to the right side of his neck, according to a statement from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Lewis was convicted of murder and aggravated assault in the February 2013 shooting in Rockwall County that left Jessica Aguilar, 33, dead and Francisco Delacruz, 40 injured.
