HOUSTON (February 16, 2014) Mellony Scarlett Lewis, ex-youth pastor and former employee of the Children's Museum of Houston, remained jailed Sunday after she was arrested and charged in connection with a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
Lewis was in the Harris County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.
Police say Lewis met the girl when she worked at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Houston.
Documents said Lewis picked the girl up on Sundays and took her to church, before returning her to her home in Baytown.
Police say the girl's parents caught on, and the two were also caught having sex in Chambers County.
The Children's Museum said in a statement all employees undergo background check and that Lewis is no longer an employee.
