CRANE (October 7, 2013)--A man was burned early Monday in an explosion at a salt water disposal site in West Texas.
Crane Assistant Fire Chief Berry Ingram said the explosions early Monday morning involved two 500-barrel tanks.
Ingram says that the majority of the fire was out by the time first responders got to the site just south of the Ector-Crane County line.
He said fire crews were on the scene for about an hour before the fire was completely extinguished.
The man was burned on his face and hands.
He was taken to a hospital.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated.
Salt water is a byproduct of oil and gas production.
