Fake Reality TV Producer Convicted On Child Porn Charges In Texas

SAN ANTONIO (February 12, 2013)—Gemase Lee Simmons, 36, of San Antonio, who pretended to be a reality TV producer to lure girls into texting him nude photos in a modeling scam, has been convicted on all 39 counts related to child pornography, extortion and bank fraud.

Gemase, who opted against a jury trial, faces up to life in prison when he's sentenced in May.

Eight victims testified against Simmons, who, prosecutors say, pretended to be someone else as he used his cell-phone, but the calls appeared to be coming from other numbers.

The FBI investigated more than 100 alleged victims.

Simmons was tried on counts related to just eight of them.

Simmons testified Monday that the girls were victims of other unknown persons.
