GEORGE WEST (September 5, 2013)--One man was killed and another was hurt when the two fell while working on the side of a Union Pacific Railroad bridge near Interstate 37 in South Texas.
The two men fell about 30 feet while working on the bridge Wednesday afternoon in Live Oak County.
Union Pacific spokeswoman Raquel Espinoza in Houston said the lift the men were using evidently fell and both men hit the ground.
Espinoza says one man died at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital.
His name and further details on injuries weren't immediately available Thursday.
The name of the man who died hasn’t been released.
Union Pacific is based in Omaha, Neb.
