WACO (May 21, 2014) Call it coincidence or an omen, but a large branch that fell from a tree Wednesday outside of the McLennan County Courthouse in downtown Waco came to rest just inches from a campaign sign for Republican attorney general candidate Dan Branch.
Branch, a state representative from Dallas, is in a runoff race against State Sen. Ken Paxton, R-McKinney, who’s a Baylor University graduate and former Baylor student body president.
Branch holds degrees from Oklahoma Christian University and the SMU School of Law.
Early voting is now underway in the runoff.
Next Tuesday is election day.
A 15-to-20 mile south wind and the effects of the lingering drought probably contributed to the limb’s collapse Wednesday.
